This batch of used engines original Toyota 2TR are dismantled from private Hilux and Prado vehicles. Most were used for regular highway commuting with little off-road heavy-duty use. We have excluded vehicles with rough off-road driving or overheating due to water shortage.
The engine remains in original factory condition. The cylinder block and cylinder head have never been opened for overhaul. No cylinder boring work has been carried out, no aftermarket spare parts are used for assembly, and we do not use touch-up paint to cover oil seal leakage.
This high-volume 2.7L naturally aspirated engine has several well-known inherent flaws. The timing chain tensioner and plastic guide rails wear out quickly, leading to rattling noise from the front end on cold startup. A stretched timing chain will easily bend the valves.The balance shaft relies on splash lubrication. Delayed oil changes lead to bearing wear and persistent idle vibration. Worn valve oil seals cause blue smoke and oil burning on cold startup, while heavy carbon buildup in the intake manifold results in rough idle. Oil leakage from the valve cover gasket and front crankshaft oil seal is also a frequent fault.
We carry out targeted inspections for these defects. We listen for chain noise on cold startup and check timing tightness, ensure consistent compression pressure across four cylinders, use a borescope to check for cylinder wall scoring, measure crankcase blow-by, and inspect all oil seals for leakage.We eliminate all units with stretched timing chains, worn bearings, oil burning and excessive blow-by. The mounting holes and wiring plugs match perfectly for direct bolt-on installation without modifying pipelines or brackets. Small retail orders and bulk wholesale orders are both accepted.
